What is Shamanism?

Shamanic techniques & tools are available to everyone

Shamanism is the oldest spiritual healing practice on the planet dating back to over 50, 000 years. A shaman is a person who makes journeys to the other world also known as non-ordinary states of consciousness for problem solving, healing, spiritual unfoldment enabling personal access to spiritual realms. The shamanic way is the path of the ‘wounded healer’ in that they have been deeply wounded in life on a spiritual, emotional, mental or physical level. This serves as an ‘initiation’ a ‘rite of passage’ for potential shamans. The ‘wounded healer’ sets out on a journey of self-discovery to heal themselves and in turn gains knowledge, tools and techniques that are useful and effective in healing their wounds, when a shaman heals their own sickness / illness they can hold the cure to heal that suffering in others.

Shamanism underlays all religions, but is itself, not a religion! Shamanism is a path of knowledge, a path of direct revelation!
The Shaman communicates with the invisible world, in which they become the messengers between the human world and the spirit world. Shamans are considered doctors of the soul for they treat all ailments/ dis-eases at the soul levels. Dis-ease meaning not at ease. The Shaman knows that healing first begins on the soul level. They also journey to the spirit world for healing of the community and the earth. The shaman communicates with the spirit world which in turn affects the physical world. The shamanic techniques are inner journeys, drumming, rattling, stalking awareness (meditating in nature), meditation & ecstatic journeying through dancing, journeying and breath work.
